Tumblr,
Most days i hate you, with your preachy radar messages, and your extreme political slant, but the one thing I will/used to give you credit for, is that even if you didn’t like where we came from, what race we are, who we voted for, or what have you: you would let us voice our concerns … or post porn. One of the two, mostly the latter. But here’s the thing:
A few years ago, we went through this before, where we thought there was going to be an NSFW blog purge. But you resolved this by just making the porn pages private, so they wouldn’t show up in results, unless you had the adult content search off. So, what’s so different about that now? Is it REALLY because you want to be a “better voice of tomorrow” or does it all come down to one thing? I mean, Tumblr likes to parade itself around like it’s a voice of the people. Having Pride flags on their “t” on the upper left hand corner, but no. They should change it to another color. Just one.
Green.
See. This whole thing started off when Apple deleted the Tumblr app from their store, Although, Tumblr couldn;’t give an answer to why, most suspected it was because of the child porn they have riddled across their platform. My question is:
Why the fuck are you blaming us?
I’m not posting child porn shit. I’m certainly not a porn bot. So, why blame people who have nothing to do with the problem? Is it just easy to delete all of us, then to come to a solution where all parties are happy?
Also, how are we stopping you from being “the voice of tomorrow”? Despite how pretentious that sounds. Yeah, i really want some of the weirdos who Tumblr has created to give me advice. Is porn stopping people who use Twitter to voice their opinions? No. Has porn stopped people from voicing their opinions here? Again … NO!
And it’s not really about the whole porn thing, it’s our freedom of expression. Besides, I’ve met some really nice people doing this for four years and now it’s all gone. It sucks being blamed for shit you have no part of, but it also sucks to lose all the stuff you’ve shared with people without giving us resources to back all this stuff up in case we do move on to other formats.
The thing is Tumblr, all of us voicing our concerns isn’t us just bitching …
It’s your eulogy. You just don’t realize you’re dead yet.
